Frequently Asked Questions:
Q) "Why
should I use vinyl siding?"
A) Vinyl looks just like real wood, but you will never have
to paint again. It also adds insulating properties and which
can lower your utility costs.
Q) "What type of warranty does vinyl siding have?"
A) Most vinyl siding comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
Q) "What is used to attach siding to my home?"
A) Stainless Steel nails that match the siding color.
Q) "What happens if moisture gathers behind the siding?"
A) It won't. The "weep holes" in vinyl siding allow any condensation to escape.
Q) "How can I keep from painting the trim around my house?"
A) We offer a custom trim package. We can bend aluminum to wrap windows, doors, fascia, etc. Maintenance-free.
Q) "Can scratches and nicks show on vinyl siding?"
A) No. Most vinyl siding is has "Color clear-through" formulas which mean scratches and nicks won't show. There are also other chemicals added to protect it from the elements and UV light.
Q) "I have seen vinyl siding that looks warped and wrinkled on a house. Why is that?"
A) Cheap, thin siding. Poor installation. Siding nailed too tight. If installed properly, vinyl siding can actually straighten the walls.
Q) "How long will it take to have siding and trim put on my house?"
A) It generally takes between 3 & 7 days, depending on the size of the home.
Q) "Can you replace wood that has rotted or warped?"
A) Yes.
Q) "Do I have many colors to choose from?"
A) Yes, there are many colors to choose from. We can also match the trim.
Q) "Is there any maintenance at all with vinyl siding?"
A) Simply clean it every few years and it will continue to look new.
Q) "Isn't vinyl siding more expensive than painting?"
A) The initial cost is higher; however the long-term cost of vinyl siding is less expensive. To keep your house looking new, you would have to paint it every 2 or 3 years. So painting is actually much more expensive.
Q) "What are the most important considerations?"
A) Who will be doing the work and the warranty. Choosing the right contractor is the most important decision in a home improvement project.
