Home Improvement Is On the Rise

According to Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies, there will be an increase in remodeling in 2010. The study expects home improvement spending to increase by five percent this year. In some cases, it will be to prepare homes for resale over the next couple of years or just a desire by consumers to spruce up their existing homes.

Projects such as building decks, adding sun rooms, installing replacements windows, and replacing the roof are all projects that can make a big difference in your homes appearance and value. Studies by American Express report that homeowners will plan on spending an average of $6,200 on remodeling projects in their home. Almost half of the people polled said their goal for remodeling is to improve their home’s appearance.
